[Sara] and I’m Sara!
[Eden] and this is our column Celebri-Tea for the Trojan Gazette.
[Sara] So our first topic for this month is Taylor Swift’s engagement with Travis Kelce. What are your thoughts?
[Eden] I am so excited for her. I think it’s great, but after two years of dating that really shocked me.
[Sara] That is kind of crazy. And why didn’t she get engaged to Joe Alwyn when they were together for as long as they were?
[Eden] Seven years is crazy for that.
[Sara] It really is.. I still ship them.
[Eden] I do too. I miss Joe. I like Travis, but Joe was one of my favorites.
[Sara] Joe just matched her vibe better.
[Eden]I agree.
[Sara] I don’t see her being with Travis Kelce. I feel like she’s too smart and Englishwoman, and nothing against Travis Kelce, but, like, their vibes just don’t go together.
[Eden] Yeah, I agree. You know, I’m not sure how our English teacher and our gym teacher are going to have a lasting romance.
[Sara] I know, but, hey. It’s cool.
[Eden] I wish them very well.
[Sara] I know. Well, okay, so what were your thoughts about the ring?
[Eden] I think it’s very pretty. It’s a little large for my taste, but when you have that much money, you’re gonna go big.
[Sara] I know, it’s so big. Like, I feel like that would just hurt after a while, just how large it is.
[Eden] Yeah. You know, and there was speculation of what the price range was, actually, and I think that people agreed that it was around the 15 million range.
[Sara] Really?
[Eden] That’s what I was seeing, you know, on different headlines.
[Sara] Well, I mean, I guess they do say it has to be a percentage of your salary. I guess the salary’s that big, so.
[Eden] Yeah. But I would feel absolutely just thrilled with that, with that ring.
[Sara] Yeah. So, obviously, like everything, there’s always rumors. Is this a public relations thing? Is it a PR stunt? What are your thoughts? Because it did come out of nowhere.
[Eden] It really did. Um, you know, I have thought of them as a PR couple or a PR stunt, but the way that they act when they’re around each other makes me feel like they’re not. Although, she is not seen publicly very much, so, you know, she has acting experience. Like, they both have experience being in the spotlight that they could be very good at that, you know, forcing and acting in a relationship.
[Sara] Yeah, it is all media training. All celebrities that big have to go through media training. So honestly, I feel like it would be pretty easy for them to have to go through that. And obviously that sucks as like, they are people, they should be able to have happy lives that not everything should be based around their career, but unfortunately, I feel like that just, it happens in that industry and that’s when it leaves questions that is this a PR stunt?
[Eden] You know, I feel like you had a strong opinion that it was a PR stunt. You know what, when we first talked to each other after we got the engagement notifications in, what, seventh period, you were the first one to say like, well…
[Sara] Well, I feel like just—it’s the timing with Life of a Showgirl. Like, she announces her album and then a couple weeks later, they’re engaged, and is it to get more hype around her album? I mean, like I said, she did announce it on his podcast, so does that have anything to do with it? Like I think that’s.. I think there’s just too many dots connecting that. I’m like, the timing is almost too perfect with everything she has going on right now.
[Eden] I think I do agree with that. And, you know, I understand both perspectives, but regardless, I hope they’re both okay with it and both happy even if it’s a PR stunt.
[Sara] Yeah, and then that Eagles game where she snuck in, apparently. Because we didn’t see her?
[Eden] Yeah, the bulletproof divider got me, and all those pictures. Wow, like, security has heightened, but is she hiding something?
[Sara] Exactly. Well, it’s interesting, because especially with last season, we saw her all the time. So why is she suddenly not seen? Did the football guys complain about it that much that they decided to hide her? Who knows?
Okay, and then our next topic, Millie Bobby Brown adopted a kid, and she’s so young! She was married at 20. She’s 21 years old right now, and she adopted her kid, so.
[Eden] I think that’s a big step, you know, I recognize that she has been really viewed as an adult since she was about 13, 14 years old, with the release of Stranger Things. But, you know, getting married at 19, 20 to a guy who was only, like, two years older than her still is a big, huge step [and adopting a child even more so].
[Sara] Exactly. It’s like you said, she was a child actor. Is she now kind of doing all this stuff to try to prove her maturity? But I do think she’s ready. I think she’s a very mature queen, and I am excited to see this. And I think she’s very excited about it.
[Eden] I think so too. And you know, being in that position with that, you know, she’s a super A-list celebrity. She’s got the money, she’s got the time and the finances to take care of a child. So I think that child is set up for a good life.
[Sara] And her and Jake Bongiovi are just such a cute couple. I think they’re gonna be great parents, and I fully support this.
[Eden] Yes, I am absolutely still obsessed with her wedding dress.
[Sara] Exactly. So then, obviously, Noah Schnapp’s reaction: he said that he was really happy for her, and that it’s gonna be great, which is a very standard reaction.
[Eden] Very vague. I’m questioning if he actually did see the child, if they’re on good terms, but we’ll never know.
[Sara] Okay, and then our last topic for the day, the Emmy red carpet and favorite looks, so, any thoughts?
[Eden] So, I’m gonna say my favorite look, I don’t want to steal this from you, but I’ve been thinking of Jenna Ortega’s outfit for the past, what, week or so since the Emmys aired. The top, which is all the gems and everything, I loved the way it looked on her. It, like, absolutely suited her style. And I did see that it was a reference to Death Becomes Her, where one of the characters wore, like, a very similar top, which is interesting to me because she referenced that as well when she was in Sabrina Carpenter’s music video.
[Sara] Oh, you’re right.
[Eden] So what’s going on there? That’s two references within a year.
[Sara]Yeah, do we think she’s gonna be part of that?
[Eden] Is there a remake coming?
[Sara] I know. That’d be good. I’d agree with you. I think Jenna Ortega was the most exciting because I felt like a lot of the outfits were pretty basic. And obviously it’s the Emmys. It’s not like the Grammys or the Oscars, so it usually is a little bit toned down. But other than Jenna’s look, I don’t think anything was super noteworthy or, like, super exciting. [Eden] Yeah. There were a lot of neutral colors.
[Sara] It was. Oh, but then, do you know what we did get at the Emmys?
[Eden] What did we get? A Gilmore Girls reunion?
[Sara] I’m a huge Gilmore Girls fan, so obviously that was exciting to me seeing them both back on stage together and kind of giving like a little speech and for comedy, obviously.. But I was excited about that, seeing the two of them back together. So I think that’s all we have for today.
[Eden] Yeah, I think that wraps up pretty much all the notable celebrity gossip events in the past month. Yeah.
