Wonderful Winter Tunes: Holiday Concert 2025
The Winter Concert took place on Sunday, December 14th at 2 P.M. The concert consisted of many popular holiday tunes. The YS Singers kicked off the concert by singing a variety of holiday songs including “All That Holiday Stuff,” “Under Winter Moon,” “Holiday Romance” and “Five Favorite Holiday Songs”. There were many talented students that performed solos throughout the pieces including Reece Busse, Willow Hoffman-Smith and Ethan Wolfgang. Afterwards, the Concert Band played four songs: “Themes from The Nutcracker,” “Fantasia On ‘Christmas Come Anew,’ ” “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” with Dashiell Bedell on alto sax & Ryan Beschler on trombone and then they finished with “Reindeer Galop.” My personal favorite to listen to was “Reindeer Galop” due to its entertaining rhythm. Next, the Concert Choir entered the stage and set up to sing their three songs: “It’s the Holiday Season,” “Zun Gali,” and “Angels We Have Heard on High.” The string ensemble then came on stage to play a piece called “I’ll be Bach for Christmas.” The Concert Choir was later joined by the full orchestra to play “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year,” “Hanerot Halelu,” “Holiday Pops Sing-along” and “Sleigh Ride.” The winter concert is a magical concert to listen to the tunes we know and love and is played by the many talented musicians that practice to display the musical arts. I wish you all had a wonderful Winter Break. I hope you can come and support these wonderful musicians at the next concert which will be on March 11th at 7 P.M.
